"One Guard: A Total Rip-Off Over Two Years"
For the last couple of years, dealing with One Guard has been nothing short of a con. Sure, they might cover the faulty item, but every single tech they send out seems to find a whole bunch of extra stuff that 'needs' fixing before they'll do anything. We're talking about wiring, hoses, cables, and all sorts of fees. They say they'll cover a water heater, but even if your hoses are in tip-top shape, the tech we had, AV Plumbing, insisted we cough up $450 for new pipes, which probably cost about $50 in materials. Otherwise, they wouldn't install it. Then there's another $159 just to swap out a water heater that One Guard replaced less than four years ago and is still under warranty. It's clear why all these techs are so fond of the One Guard warranty; they get paid for their work at a lower rate, but then they hit you, the customer, with all these sneaky extra charges that they claim are necessary to complete the job. It's a clever little scheme these warranty companies have going with the repair folks. Don't take my word for it—try getting a repair or replacement on any covered item, and you'll see you'll end up paying out of pocket every single time.

"Wow, just wow..."
The tech that One Guard sent over to sort out my a/c problem figured it was a blower motor. Honor Air didn’t provide me with a quote for a new blower motor, so I reached out to another a/c service. Turns out, it was just the capacitor.
Next up: I called to get my windows cleaned. They charged a service fee. Since there wasn’t a company on their approved list, I had to find one myself. I did, got their price cleared for reimbursement. Submitted the bill and only got a partial payment. Now I’m trying to get a manager or someone from the retention team in sales to give me a ring... they promised a call in 24 hours... but nope... still waiting...

"OneGuard is a Total Scam - Not Trustworthy at All"
On June 17, I reached out to OneGuard to report a leak in my lawn irrigation system. The first thing they did was hit me with a service fee. I was super clear during that call. Those calls are recorded, so they can check it. I mentioned that I didn’t want to find my own contractor. If they can’t handle it, then I DO NOT APPROVE THE CHARGE. They assured me they had a contractor lined up and that someone would come out.

By June 21, I called again since I hadn’t heard from anyone yet. They told me to just hang tight for the contractor.

Then on June 23, while I was about to board a plane overseas, I got an email that said, "as per our conversation, you are approved to find your own contractor..." NO SUCH CONVERSATION EVER HAPPENED.

I managed to call back on June 24 and asked for a manager. They said one would get back to me in 24 hours.

It’s pretty telling when a company has no way to escalate a call. A manager will call you? Yeah, right.

On June 29, I called AGAIN and AGAIN asked for a manager. And AGAIN, I was told a manager would call me. When???? I’m still waiting for that call I was promised LAST WEEK.

Nobody at this company seems to care.

Nobody at this company will give you the straight story.

NO ONE AT ONEGUARD WILL ASSIST YOU.

"Tech Arrived Late and Made Promises..."
The technician arrived later than expected and said he’d return the next day with the necessary parts. However, he ended up denying the claim, claiming the initial electrical job wasn’t done properly. That original work was carried out by a tech who’s an expert in setting up electrical wiring for Tesla charging stations.
